Halloween was a little different for us this year, as I'm sure it was for pretty much everyone. There is plenty of conflicting information out there about the relative safety of various Halloween events, and we decided that there was plenty we could do at home to enjoy what is one of our very favorite holidays, which would ultimately leave the streets and doorways less crowded and therefore safer for those families with younger kids and more to lose. So we brought our pumpkins inside for lighting, shut our house to outsiders, and gathered with our family bubble for our traditional meal, a round of trick-or-treating on our Animal Crossing island, and the viewing of Ray Bradbury's Halloween Tree (we read and loved the book first) and Mel Brooks's Young Frankenstein.
