Days 240-244 in 2020
Camping pandemic style. We avoided sharing public bathrooms and crowded air spaces but still got in a summer vacation by camping on "the family farm" for what we decided to call a "Dude Farm" vacation. Instead of hiking deep woods, swimming in the big lakes, and shopping amongst throngs of tourists, we hiked open farm fields, swam in a pool, and helped out with farm chores. It was exactly the vacation we needed.
Day 239 in 2020
Finishing up some summer work (his choice, not our assignment) just barely in time to enjoy a short break before school starts again. Brief vacation, here we come.

Comfort sound, like comfort food...the sound of my grandparents' house, the sound of quiet, of wildness, of farm stillness. The ticking sound of magic from my childhood, now in my home as an adult. Just what I needed for the coming chaos of a pandemic school year.
