We got him a car!

car1.jpgAnd just look under that hood!  What power!  It's a three shape cylinder - circle, square, AND triangle!  It's got a radio and rear wheel drive for those difficult situations, and he loves it!  the bad news?  car2.jpgHe can really motor through the house now!

Cruise control

Calvin has been getting exponentially more comfortable with his physical movement. You might say he's advancing by leaps and bounds (or is that by crawls and cruises?). See for yourself!

Bananappeal

Calvin had his first taste of banana today, and it was a comical one.  The funniest part about it was not his reaction to the spoonfuls of mashed banana, that he liked well enough, but his consternation regarding the the small piece of banana that his mother gave him.  Now that you'll just have to see to understand.

It may not be a box, but...

It is a well known fact that if you give a kid a special gift he will find the box it came in more fun.  Well, we bypassed this issue by removing the big gifts from their boxes before giving them, like the Learning Home and the Grooving Table (cool names, huh?).  We were outsmarted, though.  Clearly it's not the box that is so appealing, but the box's simplicity.  We learned this because even though Calvin clearly loves the door and the table, and pretty much all of his new toys, his absolute favorite new item seems to be the rolling cylinder that his uncle Steve and aunt Rachel gave him.  Yes, it's just a beach ball like inflatable cylinder, and it is possibly the most fun he has had yet!  It encourages and allows him to be much more physically active and mobile - and he just loves going crazy on the thing.

Fun with Spit!

Calvin's got this new language thing going on.  He's actually been doing this since he started cooing a few months ago, but lately he's been stringing it together as though carrying on a lip-pursing, bubble-blowing, spit-sharing conversation.  It really makes us crack up, and wring out a lot of bibs, and we wanted to share it with all of you.  Of course by the time we get the camera he's more than half done, but we figured it was viewer worthy anyhow (not that we're biased or anything).
